Can a ready-made shake be better than a sausage sandwich? Analysis of Herbalife Formula 1 and PDM

Sausage sandwich or shake? A surprising comparison of two “fast” meals.

Can a shake be better than a “normal” meal?
Sounds like a marketing gimmick?
I used to think so too.
But then came the analysis: numbers, ingredients, facts.
And you know what?
Sometimes what seems artificial… is smarter than our everyday food choices.

Stage 1: What do we eat when we’re in a rush?

Many of us – due to lack of time – grab something quick.
Sausage sandwich. Candy bar. Instant soup.
We’re hungry, busy, and need something fast.

But let’s look at the raw data:

Fiber1 g5 g
Simple Sugars10 g0.8 g

Surprised? Let’s keep going.

Stage 2: Analysis – what does it mean?

Protein – crucial in weight loss.
Provides satiety, protects muscles.
The shake has 25 g of high-quality protein.

Simple sugars – spike insulin, block fat burning, make you sleepy.
Sausage sandwich = high.
Shake? Only 0.8 g per 100 g.

Fiber – supports digestion, increases fullness.
Almost none in the sandwich. Up to 5 g in the shake.

Vitamins & minerals – F1 + PDM offer 24 key nutrients including A, C, D, E, B12, iron, zinc, magnesium.

Glycemic Index (GI) – crucial for energy and fat loss.

Yes, sausage has an almost zero GI (mostly fat & protein), but it’s not a healthy protein source – often full of saturated fats, salt, preservatives.

Let’s not forget: many everyday products are deliberately sweetened to make us crave more.

Stage 3: It’s not magic – it’s strategy

It’s not about living on shakes.
It’s about having a tool you can use when:

  • you don’t have time to prepare a meal,
  • you’re on the move,
  • you want to cut calories without starving,
  • you track sugar and insulin levels,
  • you follow macros.

Making a shake takes 3 minutes.
Just a shaker and water (or plant milk). Done.

Stage 4: Final thoughts – what does a smart choice cost?

Ask yourself: can you build a balanced meal for 3–4 EUR?

Buying eggs, veggies, oils, spices and supplements separately will likely cost more – and take time.
That’s why a shake can be an economical and practical solution.

This isn’t “replace every meal with a shake”.
It’s “make informed decisions and use smart tools”.
